I'm planning my honeymoon - recommendations?? PLEASE!!

Okay, so I'm working crazy hours getting production up & getting loans to close.  I have too much to do & little time to do it.  I'm getting married in August & STILL haven't scheduled the honeymoon.  I figured that instead of going to a vacation planner I would ask my fellow active rainers for some suggestions.

But first here are our parameters:

1. We have a budget of $3,500
2. We don't want to do a Carribean Cruise because we'll do that with family later on
3. No beach = no honeymoon - we need the beach
4. We need a balance between relaxation & play time - no sitting on the beach doing absolutely nothing.  That's boring.  We are adventurous.
5. Good fishing is a huge plus!
6. We live in PA - 2 hours from NYC. No flights over 6 hours. Unless its a great deal!!

So help me out here guys!  I appreciate the suggestions.

Joe

My brother and his girlfriend just got back from Mexico.  They went to one of those all inclusive places where all you had to do was show up and eat and drink all you wanted.  I think they only spent around $1500 each and that included the airfare.

Good luck on your upcoming wedding.

Joe - nice talkin' to you Friday.  I had a massive migraine hit me towards the end of that lunch in case you were wondering why my eyes were rolling to the back of my head. AHHHHHHHHHHHH.........

Joe. I also was going to suggest Mexico. I have been there over a dozen times. Had a good time every time. However, don't forget about passports. Have a good time, Royal..

What parts of Mexico?  Been to Cancun & I thought it was more of a party town.

I would have to think there's something perfect along the southern coastline of the US, or the gulf side of Fla..  I'll ask around.

It doesn't matter which part....you are on your honeymoon, you won't be out of your room much! ;-)

Tim - Well folks, the man has a point. We'll get out some.  We just don't want to be at the same old same old.

Rob - We've been to Florida a ton.  Puerto Rico too.

Hi Joe. Acapulco is the place to be... It's reasonably priced (within the budget you've set) and there are lots of things to do that you will both enjoy.

Hi Joe, so the Caribbean Cruise is on the back burner but

you could fly into one of the Islands for a visit i.e.
St Thomas ... don't know how the fishing is but plenty of sun, sand and other activities. (helicopter ride, boating, parasailing)

or Aruba? My nephew got married there last August - they and the wedding party loved it...white sandy beaches...great photos -link to some honeymoon feedback on a random tourism site http://www.aruba.com/testimonials/weblog.php?id=C0_1_2

No matter where you go you'll have a great time - you'll be honeymooners! Cheers and Congratulations!

cheers
