True Friendship Is None of that Sissy Stuff

This is the guy's version of a friendship poem. Actually my fiancee sent me this which truly shows why I love that woman!

Are you tired of those sissy 'friendship' poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality? Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship. You will see no cutesy little smiley faces on this card- Just the stone cold truth of great friendship.

1. When you are sad -- I will jump on the person who made you sad like a spider monkey.

2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

3. When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.

4. When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.

5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much Worse it could be until you quit whining.

6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.

7. When you are sick -- Stay away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.

8. When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsiness.

This is my oath..... I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask; because you are a real friend!

Good post and a lot of truth to it as we travel donw this road of life.  Also says we need to remember to smile a lot and quit moaning about what we can't change.  We can decide to put a smile on our face every day.  thanks for the reminder.

Wayne - Great stuff.  Stop crying about how horrible the market is. Yes its rough so now we have to work for a living!  Helloooooo...so does everyone else!

Melody - I'll add to that statement & say I will defend you when you are wrong but I will let you have it when we are alone so you never do something stupid like that again!!  And of course you don't have to be a guy but no mushy stuff is allowed on this post.

Cindy - Exactly! Hey real friends take one for the team. Occasionally that means being a wingman & just enjoy seeing your friend in the limelight!

Great posts guys! Sorry ladies if you posted on this blog you are one of the guys! That is a compliment!

Yep...#5 comes through clear as a bell.  I know I have a great friend and that seems to be the way we go.  He'll be down or I'll be down and the other will start into "well, that's nothing...this guy I know who was dating this girl who was the sister of the best friend did....."  well, you get the idea!

Exactly Ron - you need to always remember that no matter how bad things are, there is someone out there that is worst off. I.E. - quit your crying & count your blessings! We have too much to be thankful for.
